Welcome to the Forum! IF you haven't already seen our video series on making a bonnet, then I would recommend watching it as it can be a useful guide to the process, especially if you go resin infusion for the bonnet. You can find the video series here:
How to Make a Carbon Fibre Car Bonnet
In terms of pre-pregs, out of autoclave pre-pregs have made the technology a lot more affordable and accessible to the Hobby/low volume market than before. It is still an expensive process but only requires a freezer for storage and an oven for curing. No need for expensive autoclaves!

I’ve been working with composites on and off for the last ten years. I’ve made sone car parts from fibreglass and carbon. My preferred choice would be to work with prepregs if funds would allow as I think it’s great to work with.
I’m self taught so there’s been a lot of trial and error along the way Lol. I’m currently working on a bonnet which I’ve modified from a standard car which Im soon to make a mould from I’ll post some pics in the project area where any advice is welcome 👍🏼
