I recently had a customer complain that our epoxy resin turned his orange carbon fiber sheet red after cure.

I would like to ask the forum if anyone has an opinion or suggestion regarding this issue.

I'm stumped.

Thanks,
Christina

The same applies to the Red and Green hybrids, when wet out with resin, they become exceptionally dark and from some angles look almost black; the blue is the only one which remains vividly blue in colour. One way I have seen customers deal with this is to add a translucent tint to the pigment to give a hue to the whole part, in particular I've seen this done with Red Pigment against the Red hybrid fabric and it seemed to make the fabric 'pop' more and the red tows stand out against the black. It isn't something we've experimented with particularly but customer feedback is promising.

That's good to know - such useful information.  Thanks so much.  I feel much more able to speak about the hybrid cloth to my customers, most of whom are beginners.
