Been using a purpose manufactured insert for a while now. There's still a place for the old 2 piece semi-domes but these male & female clamp locators work better than anything else we've ever used.

Flash is very minimal when using these Wink and there's no drilled holes that will inevitably become enlarged & misaligned over time, nor will be the need to try and line up nut and bolt.

I like it.

What are they called and where so you get them from?

I've used pattern makers dowels before but these don't have the bolt hole through the centre so have to be clamped separately.  Nice to see a bespoke fitting.

Pity these guys are a pain in the ass to deal with. I mean fair enough I'm international, but I'm a legitimate customer and willing to buy their product and they make it bloody impossible.

It's a shame, as I was interested. But it's less effort to keep going the traditional way.

It's a shame they've come across as difficult due to shipping. I have seen them on eBay several times but at inflated prices

I have seen the mould locators on grpmouldclamp and would have bought some if  I could have ordered directly via the website.

Ordering via phoning or emailing a request for quotation is just long, so I never bothered as they don't even show an item price?
Does anyone even know the cost per item or per lot of 10 ?

I was quoted £16 for 10 units (so 5 really). Not too bad, does make for an expensive way to go about things but it is a nice professional solution.

I was also quoted £5.50 for international delivery, which again isn't bad. The problem for me is that they wouldn't accept any form of payment other than direct bank transfer, and insisted that it had to be in Pounds. Which for me means another AU$60 (~£35) in bank fees - more than twice what I'm paying for the units themselves, so all of a sudden they are completely unaffordable. The banks also offer a less competitive currency exchange, so you end up paying a bit more for the pleasure. It also means having to go into the bank in person, mess around with bloody SWIFT codes and international bank account numbers, etc. Last time I did it, I spent an hour and a half in the bank.

Honestly, I think if you are going to deal internationally then you need to at least accept card payments, or have a PayPal account or something like that. Bank transfers are a pain in the ass at the best of times, let alone internationally. But I digress,  they've been in the game for 15 years, so it's obviously working for them. It just isn't an option for me.
