Pattern coat pigments

Group: Forum Members Posts: 3, Visits: 16	After going over your tutorial videos many times i feel confident enough to start on my first project. I am now at the pattern coat primer stage and wish to pigment a 2nd coat so i can see when im breaking through to the lower layers. Ive searched the website but can not see anything resembling the liquid pigment used in the videos. All i see are pigment pastes. Can these be used? and how would i best use them? Is there anything that would be more suitable? Any hints tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated Dave

Group: Forum Members Posts: 2.5K, Visits: 28K	The liquid pigments are dispersion (paste) pigments. You essentially get two types of pigments, dispersion and powder. For polyester based resins, dispersion pigments are much better, the powders tend to clump up. As far as tips go, the stuff is super easy to use - just add a small amount at a time until you have your desired colour. It is very strong stuff, so you don't need much. Keep in mind that the Easy Composites pattern coat primer already has a pigment in it, so you can only slightly vary the colour - don't add too much trying to get a drastic difference in colour.
