Good evening folks
My names Joel and i have recently embarked on the adventure of Composites !
A little bit about myself first, 25 years old
Work in the oil and gas industry as a Field Service Engineer specializing in Inflatable Packers and Cementing Integrity.
Avid car enthusiast like i like and breath Petrol and Boost.
Where and when i discovered easy composites and manufacturing composites? /
About 2 month ago i came across a video on youtube of Carbon Mods tutorial of laminating a part.
And i thought to myself.... I could do this...
Looking further into it i learned more about Laminating, Infusion and Pre-Preg.
What draws me most is the fact i can make truly unique parts for my car ( and some friend's ) that only i would have.
I have bought pre made carbon items before but they didn't do the job or they didn't last very long or they decided to explode when the car was on track....
From everyone on here i would love to chat and learn the ways and techniques you use and help me progress onto making top quality parts.
And help me from making mistakes because I've overlooked a certain aspect.
Only ventured into skinning parts at the moment but once i get myself all the vacuum infusion supplies i'll be banging out parts in no time!
My goal ?
90% coverage of body panels on my car and a reworked carbon dash to hold gauges, Remappable ECU, Controllers, built from scratch speedo.
So yeah this is me
Hello!
