Hello all!
My name is Hörður (Hordur), 35, originally Icelandic but living in Sweden.

I have long been interested in fibre-composites but iv´e never had a chance of actually laying any fibres at all.
But that does´nt stop a boy from dreaming! Smile

So the long goal is a tailbox for my recumbent bike, and possibly a complete bike if the tailbox turns out usable.
But first i must study(!), find a suitable work space and purchase pretty much everything i´ll need.

I have some background as a CNC operator and i have a bit of general manufacturing know-how (wood, steel and so on) and know my way around a cad-program.

I have a strong tendency towards over-complicating things, adding more bells and whistles to the project along the way and my biggest problem is not being able to stick to a design for any reasonable amount of time.

Other than that, i´m a pretty normal guy with a tinfoil hat, and a head full of ideas but problems sorting the good ideas from the bad.. Smile

Welcome Hordur,

Looking forward to seeing your first project, and you getting you're workspace setup can take it's time but in the end it's worth it, i'm an infusion only workshop.

Tailbox for the bike sounds like a decent first project depending on size, but do lot's of smaller tests and have fun Smile

I'm only really starting out with the CAD/CAM stuff, I have access to a home built mini mill and have been experimenting with milling moulds directly, this might be up your street.
