Thanks all for your advice!

Great to know that woven glass can be used. I was worried about bridging at the corners when heavier fabrics are used. The chopped strand glass used in the easycomposites video seems to be quite light and conform quite readily to the pattern.

I am trying to get epoxy based gel coat but the market seems to be flooded with polyester based ones. We have safety concerns with handling MEKP. :[

If you want to laminating with epoxy resin, better utilize epoxy gel coat or free styrene polyester gel coat like APG1750 from Axson

Hi!

Woven GF cloth can be used with the Unimould system .. I used some because I ran out of the chopped strand that came with the unimould kit ..

It can be a bit more work to get trapped air out of it when it is a light weight Glass--

I get the feeling the OP is asking if woven cloth and epoxy resin can be used with the Unimould tooling gelcoat, is that correct FKY?

Certainly is.

take a look at my gsxr build, all the green moulds are woven backed.

I used 400 or 450 gram and it works very well,

tried lighter cloths and not so good.

you cannot do pre pegs with these type moulds due to temperature limits of the resin.

Hi

I see that it is recommended that chopped strand mat and tooling resin to build the mold up.

However, after applying the gel coat and leaving it to cure to a tacky state, is it possible to use woven glass fabric and laminating epoxy resin to build the mold up?

Any experience to share?
