Elite Composites are probably the best composites supplier I have come across in Australia, and they are probably the closest thing we have to EC here. Unfortunately they are in a bit of a transitional phase right now and so don't have a lot of stock at the moment. I for one am very much looking forward to seeing them back up to full speed!
Other than that, Lavender, CG, and ATL have a good range of products but might be a little unfriendly for the hobbiest.

Especially in Brisbane, you've got a good few advanced composite suppliers near you
Really?, can you possibly throw some names at me please? I've searched around but can only find a place called "Boatcraft" at Loganholme.
Easy Composites could set up a business here in Australia and make a killing. Yes, the DG charges are significant indeed.
All part of the learning process I suppose.

Possibly not as expensive as you might think for a one off, depending on the design. Especially in Brisbane, you've got a good few advanced composite suppliers near you so you can really keep the costs down. I get most of my stuff imported from Brisbane, and the DG charges are horrible.
Get some experience under your belt first, but I think once you've got the hang of making moulds and carbon parts, a smallish boat hull like that isn't totally affordable (if you don't count the labour time).

Ultimately, my dream is to make a full carbon fiber boat hull (runabout size, maybe 4 meters in length), but I'll have to wait for a Lottery win to do that. It would have an aluminium honeycomb core.

Hi and welcome.
what you hoping to make?
Sadly, I don't have great facilities for anything too extravagant. I thought I might start with a carbon fiber kite, at least until i build my skills.
