Hi Guys, After waiting what seemed like a year to get my account activated, I'm finally here. I'm from Great Yarmouth and run a Hydrographic Printing and Flocking business. I do a lot of carbon dipping, but have decided that for my car, only the best will do, so real carbon it is. I thought I may as well copy the write up from my profile: I have always had a massive love for vehicles, but never had the money to play.
I bought myself my first fast (was fast to me at the time) car (Corsa VXR) whilst I was in the Army.
4 years ago I left the Army due to a family tragedy. Since then, I have been working offshore as a Geophysical Engineer, I started to enjoy the extra money. After blowing my car up, I decided to commence an overly expensive rebuild and making a one off. During this build, I started to look at carbon dipping of a lot of my parts. This led to me going away, learning to paint and learn hydrographic printing. That soon led to me doing a lot for friends in the garage, which has now led to me having an industrial unit where I offer painting, dipping and flocking. And my car is still not finished, and I am poorer than ever, but the business is starting.
Anyway, as I have decided to go rather high end finish on the corsa, I decided dipping just wouldn''t cut it, it has to be genuine. Dipping can be done on the van. But, as both will be seen as ''demo'' vehicles and in my normal ''I can do that'' attitude, I have ended up here. Hopefully I can carbon everything and offer it to others too.
I look forward to getting to know you all and lapping up all your hints and tips, then wen I''m good enough, share my knowledge.
I am looking to go fairly advanced and do my doors, boot, roof and bonnet (amongst other pieces) but thought I's start with some simple pieces like the heel plates and hugger from my bike. I do have a few parts that I want to start off with that aren't so straight forward, so I'll post them in the technical page. After reading on here, resin infusion seems the way to go. Unless I'm wrong, please feel free to steer me in the right direction. Kirk.

Hi kirk.
look forward to seeing how you get on, infusion is definitely the way to go, you will get the results your after.
You can answer a question for me, has a look at the hydro effect and I'd quite like to do a motorcycle tank in it, can I get anything done or is it what's available, what I mean is if I have an idea can this be done.
Chris.

Cheers guys, I do plan on heavily documenting my progress. If nothing else it gives me something to look back over too. No worries Chris. There's hundreds of designs available and they can be applied as per any normal custom paint job, i.e., taped off to form a pattern (flames etc) applied over any colour, candy applied over the top etc etc. If you have an idea, I can tell you how viable it is. Kirk.
