I just tried this with a 2.8mm carbon rod I have and it could bend to about 30cm diameter with quite a bit of pressure, I would not want to push it much further.




So I would say a 2mm rod would probably work for you.




A fibreglass rod would bend much easier.

you will need to experiment!

I have found that the very small diameter "pulltruded" CF rods will not break even when bent to a quite small diameter, but they will NOT straighten out completely if they have been kept bent below a certain radius for extended periods.
In some cases they will take a long time to become reasonably straight again.
