Hello Guys,
I have made a 3 section sea kayak male mould from timber. ( Bow - Cockpit - Stern ) and have sealed the timber with polyester resin.
My question is. Is it possible to resin infuse a male mould as the outer part of the mould will be the interior of the kayak and the outer part of the kayak will have the vacuum bagging on it. Will the outer be a total mess or can this be overcome by skinning. I was going to use black Diolen 2/2 twill fabric with 2mm Lantor Soric. Any body have any ideas.
Andrew

at,You could do it this way but i find it much harder seaming the inside of the kayak once out the mold. I would make a female mold off what you have and the build the sections in that. Bolt the sections together and seam the inside then release from the mold. Far less work getting a good finish on the final part if it is straight from the mold.
