I am buiding a hardtop for a super 7 by making a model of mdf  and airplane triplex.

What would be my specific needs to make a carbon hardtop copy of that ?

If it's a one off then you could use a lost mould method, use a foam former that will dissolve in acetone, make the former a little smaller than the finished piece to allow for the layup. Mould the part then disolve the foam. It will require a bit more finishing than if you were using a proper mould but it's a cheaper way of doing a one off.
