Hello everyone, I'm new to this forum and l really love the look of composites, especially carbon fiber.  I wanted to buy a carbon fiber Headliner and looked around the internet, found several companies that sell them but just my luck, none make them for my car. (2002 Honda Civic LX), so i did the next best thing.  I made my own (my first project ever).  Here are some pics to show you guys how it came out.

Low and behold, I did such a good job that i created more parts for my car

That looks like really nice work - I have always wondered what a carbon fiber headliner would look like, and now I know. Thats a very ambitious first attempt with Carbon Fiber.

Did you have previous experiene working with fiberglass? I ask because that dash with the built in screen looks custom.

Anyway, it all looks good!

sand and clear coat using Automtive clear coat. Then sand that down and buff polish.  I use Epoxy resin on the parts.

I use a 3 to 1 Epoxy from Composite Envisions.com

and the layers vary until i have a uniformed flat surface. All of these parts I did as Overlay on the original parts, not Vacuum Form, or Infusion. They are original parts wrapped in carbon fiber and resin up, sanded down and resin up over until i am satisfied. Many tell me that they actually look like vacuumed carbon pieces.
