I just started vacuum-bagging my CF and I wonder if the breather should only slightly touch the piece or should the breather be all over it?

The piece of breather fabric that you are going to use mast be larger than the part itself. So it must be al over it and beyond it a little bit. Don’t forget to cover the part whit peal ply (or equivalent) before you lay the breather otherwise it will stick badly to the part.

Thanks.

The reason I'm asking is that I don't use a mould and therefor the surface that are facing the peel-ply and breather is my outside.
I'm a bit "afraid" that I will get wrinkles on the surface if I put the breather on top of it, but naturally it's more important to get the excess-resin out.

But will I get wrinkles?

Yesterday I used peel-ply more than one lap around the piece and I just put the breather on the side and naturally nothing happened with the breather.
I mean, I got the vacuum all right, but the resin was kept in the part.

Should I just lay the breather on top of it, or should I wrap the piece one lap as I did with the peel-ply?

I don't use a mould, but the piece is laying by it self in the vacuum-bag
