Hi,

I have a project to do, wich is a full front of a Honda Civic(Hood, bumper and fenders), in one piece, with CF.

What is your opinion about the the number of layers and type of CF to use?

Pedro

It is difficult to say without knowing how curved the panels are.  On some highly curved panels, a single layer of carbon either side of a 3mm Soric core would be plenty stiff enough, however on a flat panel the flex may be too high.

Bonnets using NO core materials can have anything between 4 and 8 layers of fabric depending on if a frame is used.

Using a core material can reduce the number of layers considerably yet the panel will remain stiff.
