Hi all,

I am going to attempt my first split mold and am hoping to reproduce the small hatch spoiler from my car. Because of the severe angle that it takes at the edge I know a spilt mold will be necessary I was just hoping for some advice if my split point is going to work.

I am hoping to split the mold along this red line I've added to my picture. I think it will work but it is curved and I think I've only seen spilt molds where people keep the splits very straight. So will it be ok to do this?

Some other pictures from other angles if they will be helpful:

Thanks for your help!

So I preliminarily put some aluminum flashing up to start planning out the mold. Obviously Ill back it with something else to give it a bit more structure but I'm looking for feedback on the angle/ placement of the split at this point. As you can see I just hot glued the flashing to the edge of the spoiler with the plan to make the first half of the mold the top of the spoiler and then make the bottom the other half. Is this looking reasonable?
