Just wanted to say I was shocked and happy at how easy my plugs released from my molds. I don't have anything to compare it to but, All I did was pull the flange material away, then clean off the wax then I blew air around the outside of the plug and I could see it kind of fluttering in the mold. I flipped the mold over and gave it a few taps with my hand on the back of the mold and the plug fell right out.  I just hope I have enough to do everything I need. It was not cheap to get here.

I'm all for the sharing of information too. I hope people can see that from most things we do and you're absolutely right that no-one knows everything; we love listening to customers, competitors, colleagues, anyone we can. I've never met anyone yet who's been involved with composites for more than a brief spell who hasn't taught me some trick or other.

As for waxing over chemical release agent, yes, you can certainly do it and you will get an unusual combination of the reduced repellency (less slippy) as far as tacking to it (or gelcoating over it) goes with the reliability of the chemical release agent underneath. In daily production it's not something we do because it's time consuming and so we re-work material choices and processes so it's not needed but it's a good trick to have up your sleeve when you need it.

Thanks for the feedback on the line clamps; they certainly are a handy thing. Every other time we've seen infusion we see people using huge mole grips or welding clamps which weigh a tonne and are a real pain (pulling hoses out of pots etc). Line clamps are the way!
