Hello, so I'm working with nomex honeycomb panels with composite fiber on either side. I have a series of screws entering one side of the laminate, but not exiting the other. My question is what composite fiber would be best at retaining the screws (like most resistant to a normal force)? Previously I've been skinning the honeycomb entirely with carbon. But the screw retention feels a bit weak.

The application here is honeycomb cored skis.

A few options:
Fiberglass
Basalt
Kevlar

And I'm guessing these are not the way to go, but perhaps?:
Dyneema
Innegra
Flax

I'd put down carbon, but from past experience it doesn't provide much support to holding screws in the laminate

Remember, for sandwiches, there is a necessary to have insert/screw throught both skins. If the fixing point is connected only on one skin, obviously starts to delaminate the skin from core around the fixing point. All the forces has to load both skins.
The best is pre-laminate punch where the core is cut off and inner skin and outer skin touch each other and insert the washer (laminated, AL) between them. If the panel is flat and bonded from prelaminated skins already, the insert has to go throught both skins.
