Generally we find what works best is a thin brush coating of PVA wood glue over the photo and edges. Once cured, it cures translucent and will form a thin skin over the photo so that the resin cannot get under so easily. A lot of lacquers, especially if rattle can, may soften with the heat generated with the resin cure and that is enough sometimes to lift the edges and expose the paper to resin soak in. If you really struggle, you can PVA both sides.
