As per the title is there away of doing it? I have a few small problem areas that basically need filling but the resin is too thin to settle where I want it in one shot. I could thicken it to a paste by adding fillers of course but that would change the colour which I don't want, any ideas?

They are called liquid thickening/thixotroping agents.

Apparently the easy composites guys say you can't thicken clear epoxy resin and keep it clear!

Not really. Can't you build up a barrier to keep it in place?

Yes I have thought about making a barrier, just wondered if there was another way. Maybe I could leave the resin to slightly cure so that the viscosity is more firm?

Some just add black pigment to thick epoxy paste to fill corners. So you end up with black strips or patches that are less noticeable than milky epoxy.

There are liquid thickening agents, wich keep the resin clear. But if the resin is too thick, it won't release the trapped air any more.

Oh okay, what are these thickening agents called?

There are also some thick polyester clear coats that can be used as a high-build clear under a 2-part topcoat. Duratec makes one I've used. Good for filling weave, peel ply texture and pin-holes. May...

Well, I guess nobody's perfect. I have done it. The liquid stuff is not nearly as good as regular thixotroping additives, but it does it's job. However, you can't get the resin into a paste like...
