I’m curious if the quality of a tools surface can cause issues on the parts surface or cause resin flowing issues. For our tool we’re using 10lb urethane foam that’s been mulled and then poly primer sealed and surface to 320g. Then release applied and then infused a part. This tool surface is in no way close to a gel coated polished out tool. Curious if this type of surface would cause any issues to the parts surface or the way resin does across the surface. I know the part will come out more a matte finish, it i’m curious if anyone knows if this type of tool surface is not ideal and no matter what is done you will never be able to get a flawless part out of it.

ok cool, i’m just trying to rule out everything possible to why we’re still getting some pitting in some areas still on the parts surface. We de gas the resin prior to pumping, we leave the resin open longer to let more resin in before clamping off, we’re not letting the resin flow to fast but also not restricting it to slow. The only thing I can think of is the air that’s in the resin feed line from the clamp to the end of the line that gets placed into the resin pot, Not sure of a way to get rid of that air or if that air is eve causing problems. you can see that air getting introduced into the bag once you start the flow but to me in looks like it just stays on top of flow media and works it self out in the resin front.
