Group: Forum Members Posts: 4, Visits: 39	Hi, I have searched for help on this but with no luck, apologies if I missed it somewhere. I am making a short Kevlar/CF tube which has bearing seats at each end. I have machined a nylon mandrel for this and (using PVA release) am wrapping 2 layers of 300g Kevlar Twill then some further layers of Kevlar/CF hybrid cloth and . I've made a couple so far that are OK with everything just wet, but when I come to wind the cloth on its a terrible messy job and I'm getting small voids inside. Can I put on an initial layer of epoxy (on the dry) PVAand let it tack up for several hours so that the mandrel will stick to the first layer of dry cloth then wet out on top (like in the fishing pole repair) or will the PVA just allow the tack layer to slip off the mandrel? Group: Administrators Posts: 2.5K, Visits: 8.5K	The PVA shouldn't cause you any problems. Allowing the first layer of resin to part cure until firm but tacky is a great idea for complicated projects like this. The fabric will stick where you place it which will help greatly. You can then wet out and wrap the cloth around as you go until you reach the desired wall thickness. Warren Penalver Easy Composites / Carbon Mods - Technical Support Assistant
