Hello everyone,

I work in the composite industry as a laminator/boat builder working with luxury tenders in Hampshire. I primarily use wet lay techniques but have done many pre preg lay ups as well. I have been looking at avenues into the Motorsport/aerospace industry as I've seen this is a significant pay increase but have come struggled to get in because of my maritime background. If anyone on this site has any information or advise for me it would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Your right that's where the money is.If your on the south coast you could try formaplex, urt or gtr

Aerospace is night an day from boat/grp and motorsport is night an day from Aero !

several other options round Portsmouth inc Ben Ainslie Racing who are doing some high end pre preg

People tend to generalize they class aero as slow steady an easy 9-5 an autosport is mad rush,80/90 hrs week, small complicated high end parts an that's pretty true

In contracting motorsport guys work the winter an have the summer off or drop into aero for an easy cruise

Until you see some of it I doubt you could imagine how high end motorsport is now

closed mould rohacell core parts

3D printed wasted pattern work parts

The precession, I.e 1mm staggers on 3 different planes with 3 different material when doing wishbones

having said that its all easily learnt if you have a head for it and can easily do £1500 a week if you put the hrs in
