Here it is boys, something I like to think as the last step in getting a perfect part!

After stepping into the clearcoating/painting business I can tell you, with or without a paint both it is a total PITA. I cant stand clear coating a part after de moulding, then the clearcoat gets wavy or a bug in it. then i san and polish, still not perfect.

I'm starting to learn this real fast; the key to a perfect part, is taking a mould from a perfect part and polishing it there. I plan to make some really perfect molds, then try this.

The site says you can brush it on, we for my size parts that would be really connivent. Now matter what the surface of the part will be perfect but if your paint strokes on the back are to thick you may see your weave get a little wobbly.

When making parts smaller than ".5 meter" I think my cup gun is a bit much? think an air brush system would work?

Bang Joe you nailed it, for the most part this guns nozzle and cup adapter is WAY too BIG  for nearly all my applications. I need this smaller cup adapter. One I can hook up a red solo cup with 16oz.

I have no access to a lathe but I need this new adapter, not only are the cups huge for my application the nozzle rests about half and inch up from the edge of the cup so you really got to waste alot. And forget about just doing one part at a time with a cup this size.

I sure would love to see easy composites step up and make an adapter for a smaller something like 12-16 oz cup. Joe, Feel like selling yours  I need that lol!!???

Found the nozzles here: http://www.bottompaintstore.com/fluid-spray-gun-nozzles-for-g100-and-g200-spray-guns-p-10439.html

I ordered the 3.1 mm, Ill let ya know how it goes.

Bottom line is this gun and nozzles are built for spraying boat hulls but alot of the products on easy composites are geared towards smaller projects since were buying in small portions not 5 gallon buckets for the most part. Therefor the cup is just to dang big to match up with any kit really.

Now I really should of been practicing shooting on another surface before going right for the mold but I didn't. Guys start off with about 20% pressure then go up from there. I doubt you would need more than that for smaller parts but because for the large nozzle the stuff wants to drip out a bit with the pressure down.

I am going to attach some pics of how the stuff laid on the mold, for my first time I don't think its terrible. Its better looking then the last attempt with the HPLV gun.

Here's that engine cover buffed out. Now I am just waiting on this eazy lease. I am finding I need to sand the parts with 1200 or even 1000 to get my wax streaks out of the gc50. However it does buff out nicley.

This is the ripple effect you get with an un even GC50 coat:

Here's the gc50 shot with the new cup gun from easy composites: Id love to see how smooth someone elses molds look so I can have a goal.

This part did come out better but I barley salvaged the coverage with the gc50. Going to give it one more show ant order a smaller nozzle.
