This text is from infiana groups website: FlexPlas® can be used for a range of procedures (such as pre-preg technology in autoclaving, (vacuum) infusion, hand lay-up process or Resin Transfer Molding/RTM). The release film, which is extensible up to 300 percent, highly elastic and thermally stable, is applied to the mold like a second skin. After the fibrous material has been placed in the mold, the cured component can be easily removed thanks to FlexPlas®. The release film can either remain on the component as transport protection, or it can be safely and easily removed. Without any residue: each component can be further processed, for example coated. Another advantage: applying a gel coat to the FlexPlas® release film prior to covering it with fibrous material saves additional time and energy. In addition to omitting the cleaning and grinding steps from the process, the component now no longer needs to be coated and additionally cured. The coating is cured together with the component in one production stage. I got a test roll of this material but haven't got much time to play with it yet. My parts are mostly complicated once, so i am interested to see does this work for them. For bonnets and easy flat type of parts, this could be really good time saver. Basically the film is vacuumed to the part, and works as a barrier between mold and fibers. If I remember correctly the film is 0.1mm thick.

Group: Forum Members Posts: 50, Visits: 448	I am going today to test the flexPLAS, I am bit out of vacuum sealant tape, but i hope i have enough for one try. If anyone is interested of the product I can share few photos of it. It should leave a matte finish to the part.

Struggling to see its appeal at this stage, though, especially on smaller projects where cosmetic finish might be important given the matte finish it leaves Interested to know more, however

Group: Forum Members Posts: 50, Visits: 448	I just tried the product to one of my difficult mould and i was not able to get it sit over the mould properly. I should try to easier mould for first. I laid some carbonfiber with epoxy over the FlexPLAS and the flat part released extremely easy. It didn't stick at all. So releasing is extremely good. Now I just have to figure out will it be suitable for my moulds, or will it need a more even surfaces. If I put too much Flexplas, it will make wrinkles. if i put too less it will not stretch to all corners. At least they got good customer service. I must have a skype conversation with them and ask some more tips how to apply it. Very promising product for extremely easy release, but at the moment for me very difficult to apply properly. maybe i do something wrong.. lets see.
