Hello,

I have coated an outdoors wooden playhouse in easycomposites epoxycoating resin.  I now want to colour the coating.  Will a standardacrylic paint (eg Dulux weathershield) adhere to the existing layer of coatingresin?  Alternatively, can I use easycomposites epoxy colour pigment to mix with anew layer of the coating resin to provide colour?

Thanks for your help.

Kevin

Not being familiar with that particular paint, you would need to check the manufacturers information.  However, most modern paints will have no problems as they are usually "plastics compatible" so should bond fine.  If you do struggle then the use of a plastics primer usually solves the problem.  You will need to give the epoxy surface a light key with sandpaper and ensure it is free from any dirt or greases before painting.

Alternatively using a pigment in fresh resin will also work well.
