Hello,
I am going to try replicate a sword from a manga (yes, the freaky nerd stuff) and I inted to use a carbon fibre as a core. The sword should be 190cm long 35cm wide and between 1cm and 2cm thick. Other than carbon I will use mirelon to soften the impact. That's why I want to use one carbon fiber rod (180cm) for base and cca 10 traverse small flat pieces of carbon fibre, so it would make a solid and still light core. But I have no idea how thick must the rod and other pieces be to hold the sword together. Can anybody help me estimate the required thickness, so it won't brake when in contact with another sword and it's not too heavy, please? note: the handle is cca 40-50cm long
.
