Hello wonder if any one can help me with a few problems I'm having.

A. I've Carbon laminated a motorbike petrol tank with B & R carbon, my problem is that I cant seem to get rid of the grey water marks or small little dots. Tried using acetone & ethanol, tried polishing, I just cant get rid of them, I'm hesitant to sand much more because in places its starting to break through and the satin isn't as robust as the carbon.

B. I've resin laminated the whole frame, however when I'm trying to get a polish finish using wet and dry little white dots start showing up like they are in the resin it self.
I did used flumed silica to give the base layer a decent ability to hold, but I left it a long time with the black colouring paste as suggested.

I also use my catch pot chamber as a vacuum chamber to take out as much of the air as I could.

This is my first attempt at a composite project so am a little unsure. tbh I'm getting a little frustrated with it now, I just want my bike back in one piece, the amount of hours I have put in is getting ridiculous.

Any help would be much appreciated

Joel

Do you have any suggestions for improving these parts?

Whats the best way of making the pin holes good?
Sand right back then layer back up?

I did use Acetone on the parts before re-layering but struggled to get some of the residue off.

Its been proving really difficult to try and sand things smooth with out it going through to the metal of the parts at times, it's only small places it just a pain, any solutions would be greatly appreciated.

The 2-part clear coat is that referring to gel coating?

I'm am guessing that to get the tank good I'll have to put another layer of fabric over?
