Hi All
First post, I want to cast some ribbons for some pen blanks, I'm comfortable with the technique, float it over some glass slice it while its not quite set. This is what I did last time and some of the ribbons stuck to the glass. My question is- if I use a release spray on the glass first will I then get adhesion when I pour the second cast over the folded and curled resin ribbons or will there still be mold release present to stop the ribbons becoming incorporated fully.
Thanks
Kevin

Aha! I see!
The process you are using in the youtube clip will give you some trouble if you use a release agent on the glass surface.
Some of the release agent will stay on the "strips" or "ribbons" and give you problems with the bonding to the resin you pour in.
Get a piece of polypropylene sheet (EC sells it) and do your ribbons on that rather than the glass. the resin will not stick to that at all.
You probably will not even need a scraper to get it off.
Good luck.
