Here is something I have been secretly working on, non slip carbon floor tiles. Will have to lay them when the Mrs is out Hanaldo, your very lucky my wife hates CF. Warren You should give them the same pattern that diamond-plating has

Warren (Staff) (06/10/2014) placemats would be cool. Infused with high temp resin and postcured. You wouldnt want that hot dinner plate or coffee cup leaving a ring!
Salad serving bowls etc
Camping dinner set, carbon box, plates the lot!Just done some tests in totally uncontrolled conditions The original mouse mat/ table mat was made using normal IN2 and oven cured at 60 degrees for two hours. Placed a freshly boiled mug of coffee on the mat for 15 mins, zero ring/marking on mat. Dinner plate in pre heated oven set at 200 degrees for 15 mins, plate on mat for 15 mins, zero ring/marking on mat. Looks like high temp resin may not be necessary. Warren

I'm currently making another tray, this time with fibreglass, Soric, and red and yellow tinted resin. And I'm making the mould for a vase for the Mrs, which I'll make out of Jute, Flax, and a little bit of carbon fibre. I enjoy these non-automotive projects sometimes!

Haaah ... Tried that once.... My CF mouse mat was used only once... the pattern in the nice clear Carbon weave played havoc with the sensors in the optical mouse,,, I my case the cursor on the screen jumped around erratically, making any precision mouse work impossible... Worked fine with a mechanical "rollerball" mouse.. Must admit that did concern me. Not sure if the larger 450 weave helps but works fine with my own optical mouse. Will have to try a few different ones to be really sure. They may end up being table mats instead Warren

"Sapere Aude"... Dare to KNOW! The written word is the only truly efficient vehicle for transmitting a complex concept from mind to mind... 103% of all people do not understand statistics... Do not adjust our mind, theres a fault in reality :-)

I client asked me to create some carbon gifts that he could give to his special customers at Christmas. We settled on a mouse mat for starters. As raw edges were unacceptable I produced a quick mould to give a nice radius to the edges. Lay up is 450grm - 2 layers of 2mm Soric - 450 grm giving a 5mm ish total thickness done with infusion This is just a sample the finished ones will have his company logo on. Warren
