Unfortunately the shipping costs for Dangerous Goods to NI are unavoidable.
Technically you are not allowed to ship DG via Royal Mail in the post which has knocked out the cheaper option for DG.
Almost ALL of the couriers treat NI the same as Ireland and as a seperate European country regardless of it technically being part of the UK. This means they will charge the Eurozone rates for shipping DG which are more than UK mainland rates.
We use several couriers here to ensure we can reach most places in the world and we aim to use the cheapest option for each individual parcel.
For DG, sending to NI can also lead to shipping delay as many of the ferry companies have limits for the quantities of DG they can have on each ship meaning it is common place for the courier companies to send limited numbers of trucks only on certain ferries.
Unfortunately these costs and delays are beyond our control. If there was a cheap and easy way to send to NI and Ireland then we would almost certainly use it as we have many customers both north and south of the border.
