I have seen the cheaper presumable no name vac pumps. The come in single and dual stage and are at a GREAT price. Any first hand experience or feedback?
I know that price is sometimes an indicator of quality....

My pump is a cheap one off eBay which came from Germany, and it looks identical to many higher priced units.
I've been using it a couple years now and it's never missed a beat. Change the oil in it pretty regularly, especially if I've had leaky bags as the oil seem to emulsify.
Same here..... I got one from Germany too and it is quite and works brilliantly.. I have also have an Easy Composites pump which I got through another supplier in the UK and had to swap that after about 9 months. Both of those were not that quiet. But the eBay pump is almost silent and the one I use daily for de-bulking as well as when curing. I leave it running up to 18 hours per day too... The second easy composites pump has been good but too loud for me to use all the time so leave it plumbed into my oven and only use it for over night cures.
