Repairing carbon wing

Hi all, just looking for some advice please,

I have a motorsport wing for my Exige that is looking rather tired on top. The fibres appear to be completely dry in sections but thankfully no damage. I have been told that the wing has been previously clear coated by the previous owner, but i would rather use something like the XCR kit to properly protect the fibres underneath.
With the local areas of exposed carbon I am very nervous about sanding down too much, if there is some lacquer left in areas will this cause problems with laying down new epoxy from the XCR kit?

Thanks

As long as you can get a reasonable key to aid resin adhesion then you should be ok.  Ideally remove as much lacquer as you can taking care not to sand into the fibres. In essence then, the resin coating process is the same as it would be for skinning, so build up the layers then flat it back.  You can finish by lacquering again or just polishing up the resin.

Amazing thank you Warren!
