Soric is used as a core material in resin infusion, the advantage of using a core such as soric is that it increases the separation of the surface layers while being much lighter (and cheaper) than solid laminate this creates a stiffer panel.

Using Soric is very easy, it can be used in exactly the same way as any other layer of reinforcement; simply lay it into the mould between the cloth plies and complete the vacuum bagging 'stack' as you would with any other infusion. Soric does, however, have a unique feature that allows fast infusion flow without the use of further flow mesh/media, this is due to the voids between the cells of the honeycomb structure creating very effective channels for the resin to flow through. When using the Soric as a flow media it is recommended to use resin infusion mesh for the first few inches of the infusion, this helps to get the resin into the core of the soric, from there it will flow freely through the rest of the moulding.
