Hello! I need to make a one piece "glove" mould to cast an arm and hand with no seam lines. Have previously used dragonskin but find it very unpredictable and expensive, it also produces far too much gas for my liking. Does any of your silicones have the right properties to produce this kind of mould? Quick answer appreciated

Both of our silicones can be used to make a hand mould.

To avoid seam lines you are looking at a one piece mould. The problem you will have is demoulding it.  It all depends on how the hand is aligned.

If you are careful with your layup box and ensure the silicone isn't too thick, then you will find the thinner part more flexible and thus easier to demould the cast part. However, the thinner the silicone, the more likely it will tear.

Degassing will help improve the tear strength.

I would be recommending our Addition Cure Silicone Rubber due to its superior tear resistance and being clear, you can see how demoulding progress is going and manipulate it more carefully.

You could also do it with aliginate to make the mould, cures quickly (+/- 10 minutes) and costs around 10€/kg dentist use it to mould the shape of your mouth.
the problem might be, It can only be used once. the advantage is you can have some undercut without problems and there wont be a seam and you"ll see every detail
You mix your alginate, put you hand/arm in it, let it cure, remove your hand/arm, cast with polyurethane, remove the alginate by tearing it apart and you have a detailed replica of you arm Wink
check some videos on youtube!
