Good morning everyone,
I'am about to start a project with an engineer and we'd like to know
1. How much if at all will a carbon part shrink either from pre preg or resin infusion process?
2. How much can either systems can it be compressed during the curing process. E.g if you were to lay up the carbon cloth in the mould and it's say 2.5mm thick, and the finished size required should be 2mm thick will it compress when the mould is bolted together.
Many thanks,
Paul

your engineer should be able to calculate any shrinkage as it will be his/her design, spec of resin...

I guess It can be calculated but like Chris says it depends on so many factors: Pressure, vacuum,...

I did think it would take a bit of trial and error, the guy I'm working with and myself are novices...
