Hi all,

I'm making some very simple surfaces  to use as plugs. The problem is that it will take considerable time to get the surface finish up to a high gloss.

Could you tell me if plastic wrapping (ie vinyl or similar) the surface would be suitable solution?

I will be using Easylease as a release agent, and my moulds will probably have a vinylester gelcoat.

Many thanks,
Adam

If the surface you want to cover is fairly flat you can stick bagging film to it with contact adhesive. You can get it wrinkle free if you are careful. No release agent needed.

No problem. Its a method I use quite a lot for pulling moulds from existing parts if I am unsure of the material/surface type. The last thing you want is a "sticker" and a damaged/destroyed original.
I use 3M 77, just a light misting is all that's needed to hold the bagging film in place.
Let us know how you get on Smile
