Hello,
I;ve been watching people make carbon fibre parts and fancied making some for my car. The first part was going to be the engine spark plug cover, mainly becuase it's flat and isn;t compliated that requires multiple bonds.
My question is that the cover sits in the engine bay so does get hot.
I was going to buy the start set mould maker starter kit to make the mould, then the starter laminator kit to actually make the part.
There is already a carbon fibre part of this but going forward i would like to make more parts.
Could i ask for a novice on a first project is this the correct way to do it?
My ulimate goal is to do the bonnet, front wings, boot lid and spoiler. The reason being is that the bonnet ways 26kG but a carbon fibre one (from the race car) weighed in at 6kg, so add bolts etc it should come out at 8kg. Also if i make the mould others can do one.
Any help would be grand.
thanks
Andy
