+x+x+xWarren (Staff) (01/11/2013) They look brilliant and to be fair, for what is going on a race bike and should primarily be concerned with performance and weight only, they are more than adequate for the job in hand!! Even full of pinholes it would still do the job.
Your pursuit of perfection is impressive!Cheers.. It is more of a pursuit of keeping road riding wannabees off my back... I have seen some really expensive factory parts and they are full of pinholes as the teams see them as a consumable part and why spend time making it flawless?? Road riders see the press bikes or show bikes that do have every part flawless. They want THAT part.... and then it is the "Oh I know the real part is £3000. But you are making a copy so it has to be less how about £200??" Hmm..... Erm.... let me think about that......... Erm.. NO.... haha.. Hi, can anyone tell me please how to make a ring like that one : https://www.carbotrade.at/carbonringe/42/carbon-ring-partnerring-carbon-wolfram-blau/silber I know that there is one ring of Metal and one slice of a carbon fiber tube, but how can u put them together ? It looks so great!

Congratulations to all of you. Beautiful Works !!! Just one question: From the pictures, it seems to me that there´s no peel ply, perforated nor breather over the laminate. Is t correct ? I know you can avoid peel ply, but I´ve always been told or read or experienced that you need a breather in order to conduct the vacuum. Is the vac stact just the vac bag ?! Thanks in advance !! Correct I have used a none perf release film and recently I have also just used the bag to pull down.. But these are quite small parts and the bag does have some creases which do allow air off the part. It is a risk and out of 12 parts I have had 1 which I had to re-make due to the creases pulling resin both off the surface and causing nasty ridges inside the part. But one part in 12 is acceptable I guess.

This is nice and timely! I've been looking at a tube recently and couldn't figure out a good way of doing it without flanging one side and bonding. The tube of vac film down the middle is a MUCH better way. You've also made a damn fine part!

Cool.... I have 3 sets of the air tubes I am waiting for the guy to pay me for.... He asked me to make them.. I did 2 sets in a few days and he has not paid yet... So I am probably going to sell them off if he doesnt sort out payment quickly and I have a few other jobs to get done...So I will let you know on the rack.. I would be up for that once I have cleared a few things here both sales and space....lol....
