Hi I have been repairing a plywood stitch and tape mirror dinghy which has been repaired using West system 105/205 resin on the joints, fairing the hull and coating same, would your clear epoxy coating resin be a compatible material to coat over the cured west system epoxy? All surfaces will be painted ultimately.

Generally there is no problem with one epoxy system bonding with another.  Be careful to ensure the surface has been fully keyed up and is free of dust and dirt to ensure the best mechanical bond.

The West Systems 105 series "marine" epoxies are 100% compatible with several of the EC epoxies.

I have actually managed to use WS Slow hardener 206 with EC laminating epoxy .. it uses the same 1:5 volume mixing ratio, and cured perfectly ..  Smile   I have no actual testing of the resulting laminate, so no info on the strenght of the finished resin-

I have used WS 105/207 "UV coating mix" on top of EC infusion epoxy laminates with great results.. (bonding to peel-ply'ed surface)

I see no reason why EC epoxies should not work perfectly on top of WS .. just follow Warrens advice on keying the surface properly . I use 180 grit ...
