Hello everyone,

My name is Tom, I'm an Aerospace Engineering student at San Jose State University. I have a particular fascination with advanced composite techniques. In particular, Out of Autoclave prepreg. I have some prepreg experience from my summer job right now working for a company right now making replacement prepreg parts for the Chinook helicopter and the C-130 Hercules. It's all vacuum bagged, oven cured. Not a perfect pinhole free finish. They let me make my own parts during lunch so i have been experimenting with the material myself, trying to get a pinhole free finish.

Anyways, i look forward to learning as much as i can on this excellent forum.

thanks,
Tom

I know a guy who spent years looking for a pinhole free finish from all sorts of prepregs. He tried every prepreg under the sun and burnt £20,000 worth of carbon. The conclusion was that VTF261 is the ONLY pinhole free, cosmetic carbon OOA prepreg in existence, and Umeco know it. Thats why the price is sky high.
