Can you please provide technical data on the pulltruded carbon fibre? I'm looking at the 2mm x 12mm strip.

Specifically I need to know Young's Modulus, Density and Rockwell hardness.

Thank you,
Simon

Hi Tenson,

The manufacturer of the pultrusions has been unable to provide us with the mechanical data for some time. They're first-rate pulltrusions but for some reason they've been slow getting the mechanical properties over to us. For this reason we've commissioned one of the universities that we work with to do their own empirical testing and so we should soon have this data. I'll add it to the product pagesas soon as it comes through.

Best regards, Matt

Now thats some serious sellers. DIY'ers now also can have access to some "industry-only" datas. Thanks EC.

I would also be interested in seeing the technical data on the 2mm x 12mm pultruded flat bar when you get it.

In the meantime, could you tell me the exact weight (nearest 0.1g if possible) of a 1m length of 2mm x 12mm and 1mm x 6mm pultruded flat bars?

Thanks,

Phil.

Hi Philip,

A 1M length of the 2mm x 12mm carbon fibre strip weighs 37grams, the density of the pultrusions is approximatly 1.6, This would mean that in theory it's weight would be 38.4grams however due to the fact that the edges of the pultrusion have a radius, the actual figure is slightly lower.

Is it that hard to weigh each of your products on the site?

At the very least I need to know how much each of the flat strip carbon weighs per meter and I don't see any of that on your site? And I'd rather see the actual recorded weight than the manufacturer "spec".

Whilst I'm here how much does this weight : Carbon Fibre Strip 0.5mm x 10mm 1m (39") [OS1]

Hi Dogzilla,

Your dead right it's not that hard to weigh the sections and list them so as soon as we have the chance we will do just that, in the mean time your section weighs 8grams in theory and reality.
