Easy-Lease every time, if you have some use it. Forget the wax and PVA.

Assuming that you have used the wax and PVA on the same piece of glass start by cleaning /degreasing the glass with either mould cleaner or panel wipe.
Then apply 4 or 5 coats of the Easy-Lease as per the instructions. You are only looking at putting down a thin layer. And use a clean piece of cloth (good quality kitchen roll is fine) for every coat applied. But after applying it don't buff it like you would wax, just a light wipe over with a clean piece of lint free cloth is all that is required. If you buff it too hard you will actually be removing the Easy-Lease.

The Easy-Lease forms a barrier layer between the mould and the Resin and very little is transferred onto the surface of the part, that is why you can get multiple pulls from a mould ( I average about 10 pulls) before having to apply another coat of Easy-Lease.

Once cured and de-moulded a quick buff and wax and the surface of the part should be exactly the same as the finish of the mould, in your case glass.

Hope that helps Warren

OK, so i have been working on some flat panels made off a sheet of glass using the resin infusion technique. Ive been having a problem with visible marks left from the release agent. Ive used wax, PVA and Easy-Lease. So far the wax left the most marks on the panel, the PVA slightly less, and the Easy-Lease was by far the best. So i have few questions because i am still not entirely happy with the result.

1. When i applied the Easy-Lease, it says on the back of the container that you should let it dry for up to 45 seconds then lightly buff in a circular motion to remove excess. Now i did that and i applied several layers of it, but there were some light streak marks that i could see on the glass mold that did end up transferring into the part's finish. Should i be buffing the Easy-Lease harder to remove these marks before i start to infuse the panel? I wasnt sure if buffing too hard would cause the easy lease to come off.

2. Is if possible to get a part to shine by just buffing and polishing after if comes off the mold? I want the part to shine but i dont really want to have to coat it with epoxy or spray it with clearcoat, if that is at all possible.

Any thoughts or advice on the process would be helpful, thanks.
