Hi Kylle,

Good question! We had hoped we would be offering them again about now (February) but we've been so busy with running and growing the rest of the business that we haven't managed to turn out attention to the training courses again. We do still have plans but there will need to be quite a bit of building work to put new training rooms in and so at the very earliest it must be 2-3 months away.

We will of course keep everyone updated through the website and this forum.

Best regards, Matt

If training courses become a regular part of the business, will you get the courses accredited by a local college or awarding body such as NVQ or OCN???  very few composites courses carry any form of official educational accreditation unless done as a module of a bigger engineering course/apprenticeship.

Hi Warren,

To be honest, probably not. I know why this would be useful to you but I'm notsure that this would be a priority for other people. Our composites courses, abit like the rest of our business, would be focussed on practical resultssupported by the theory, rather than focussed on the theory with a little bitof (often unsuccessful) practical. We would always adjust each course toaddress the areas of interest of the group rather than stick to a strict syllabus. In doing so, it would be difficult to gain accreditation for a course thatcould actually be slightly different each time we run it, according to theneeds of the group. We believe it is more important to be able to adapt andensure that individuals get the answers they need from the course thanto deliver a rigid course with a certificate at the end but that may well havenot addressed the needs of the people on the course.

I certainly don't mean to indicate that the courses (as and when we start doingthem again) are ad-hoc, far from it, but we do have the ability to change thefocus or spend more time on certain processes or principles if we don't need tofulfil syllabus requirements of an accredited course.

Fair enough Matt. Wishful thinking on my partLaugh

Plus id imagine even if the accrediting body didnt charge a fee, it would still cost money in terms of time to rewrite the materials to provide "learning evidence" and assessments etc that these bodies tend to use to give accreditation.
