Just i few words re using infusion mesh, i am making a few frame guards for a customer and gave the small section of mesh and peel ply a try. The resin managed to move a short distance from the inlet then stopped dead, i had a 100% seal on the bag and full vacuum.

Thanks.
I remember something about slowing the resin down (just peelply) right after the spiral, for 2-3 cm, then have mesh for 10- suitable length,
anyone heard about this?

Always use mesh from inlet into part but only to edge off part then use peel ply to vaccum side it acts as a resin break slowing down resin, which helps to saturate reienforcement.

I also put a small piece of mesh under the vac outlet. This helps in drawing the air out of the bag/reinforcement.

Regards Warren.

Hi all

is it necessary to use infusion mesh on smaller parts? (< ½m2)
I suspect that it would work without,
and opposite that the resin would know about "the path of least resistance"
and not penetrate all the layers/fibres if it could flow more freely in the mesh.

How about just start with mesh the first cm´s?
