Group: Forum Members Posts: 1, Visits: 13	Hello, I wanted to know more about the flexible resin AND/OR (the thin version) flexible sheet. Is it possible to describe what each of these systems act like in regard to another fabric? For example: canvas, thin nylon (kite material) thin leather. I'd like to get a good idea of the feel of the material best I can before I order a test piece sheet and/or the resin. I'm not looking to layer up for thickness or strength. It will be purely cosmetic/and or used in conjunction with other pieces of carbon/material that provide strength aspect. I prefer that the uncoated fabric texture remain as apposed to a high gloss/slick surface. (can you still see/feel the weave in the finished product. (This isn't a deal breaker if its smooth, I can still at least test with it.) In regard to durability I need a resistance to the fibers be picked and pulled out of the weave. Since this is cosmetic it wouldn't do any good if the weave wasn't some resistant to damage. Are the individual fibers well bonded together and resistant to deformation. The 3M backing of the sheet shouldn't be a problem as it will be bonded to a hard surface and also another flexible fabric material if needed. In my mind I need a CF fabric that basically continues to act like a fabric without being able to unweave and grossly distort when bunched. Is there any closeups of the finished products weave, or perhaps a video of the CF being flexed, rolled, bunched? Thanks for your help!

Group: Administrators Posts: 2.5K, Visits: 8K	Our EF80Flexible Epoxy Resin is used just like any other resin system, so the finished results are entirely dependant on how the part is made. The only obvious difference being that the resin cures flexible. Our FlexibleCarbon Fibre Sheet is pretty much what you described as your needs. It is in effect a polymer encapsulated carbon fibre (in this case plain weave) with a 3M backing. The texture is not flat, it is smooth but follows the fabric contours and has a shine to it from the polymer. The fibres cant be picked out as the fabric is in effect sealed by the polymer coating.
