Hi, could you tell me the noise level of the two vacuum pumps you propose? Is it different? Is the high capacity model louder?

Thank you

Seb

Hi Seb,

The larger pump is slightly louder. They're both pretty quiet but I'm afraid I don't have a decibel level for them. Mainly we seem to find that the sound is more related to what they're standing on. On a wooden benchtop (like in our filming room) the sound gets amplified but put them on a concrete floor and they're very much quieter.

I hope this helps,

Matt

Thanks. Judging by the videos, the small one seems to be quiet. So if the high capacity is only slightly louder then it will work for me. What wouldn't work would be the noise level of an air compressor Smile

About the surface they're standing on, actually I was thinking about putting the pump on a surface that absorbs vibrations.

Both the Vacuum Pumps are certainly much quieter than a typical garage air compressor.

Putting the pump on a thin rubber mat/sheeting would certainly damp down the transmitted vibrations. When I worked on Submarines, most of the machinery was damped using rubber mountings or rubber mats so it will definitely help.
