Hello there (newbie from France here)

I have a bit of experience with composite as I used to build windsurf and surf boards (amateur style in the 80s 90s), and I'm thinking these days of building another board, and also some furniture things.

And I have a question regarding prepreg, I would be interested in using it (to gain weight the project being quite a "long" board), but my inderstanding is that EPS foam (from which windsurf boards are shaped, not the foam for the sandwich layer) cannot withstand 100°C, or even 80°C, plus it would require quite a big oven.

But how about UV curing prepreg ?

I'm a total newbie in prepreg, but basically my question is whether it is mainstream or not ?
I don't see any products listes on easy composite sites, and could not find a thread discussing it.

So is it still a very specialized technology ? Not really usable by amateurs ? And in general are there some major cons compared to "heat curing prepregs" ? Or is it much more expensive ?
Any info welcome ! Smile
