my name is Gert Jan, I'm a Dutch mechanical engineer starting the adventures in the composite world! I am working as an independent engineer & inventor at Dirty Boots, focussing on projects that can make the world a little better. For instance, a mobile clinic setup for emergency medical teams.

Welcome to the forum and good luck with your project.  
There are already composite tent poles out there so no reason why you can't make your own carbon fibre ones.
