Hi there,
I'm an absolut beginner regarding composites and was hoping someone could push me into the right direction.
I have a 3D printed motorcycle mono seat and I applied bodyfiller (Bondo Professional Gold) to it today to smooth out the print.
After it’s sanded (hopefully tomorrow), I would like to laminate all around (bottom and top) to have a truly laminated skin and a 3D printed core. I left 2mm offset on each side for the laminate.
The seat will be close to the motorcycle engine so I think high temp resin would be the way to go.

Long story short, these are the first question which came to my mind:

1. Epoxy or polyester resin? What is the difference?
2. Would you recommend glass, kevlar, or carbon fiber for this project. At the end, it will be sanded again and painted so no exposed laminate but I’m a bit worried about the strength (only 2mm laminate thickness)
3. Would it be better to use a black base coat to bond the first layer of cloth to it?
4. Would you vacuum bag it or just skin it and let it cure without vacuum bag?
5. The part is about 300mmx300mmx1200mm and has multiple smaller radii. What laminate and tools would you recommend a beginner to archive the best result?
6. Any recommendation on product or brand?
7. Any other tips/recommendations for this project?

Thanks,
Tom
